  • What classes does the GLS offer?
    The GLS offers German language classes for children and adults as well as cultural events for the GLS community.
  • When are classes held at GLS?
    Classes are offered on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon during the school year, September through June.
  • How much do classes cost?
    Tuition for the entire school year covers 32 classes from September to June. Tuition depends on a number of factors and is pro-rated for students who enter our school mid-year.   • What is the minimum age for children to be enrolled at GLS?
    Children must be four years of age and be potty-trained.
  • What books and materials do the classes use?
    Each teacher communicates directly with the class about books and materials. Generally, students will need a pencil, paper, colored pencils, scissors, and glue.
  • What are the teachers’ qualifications?
    All teachers at GLS are native German speakers, bring teaching experience, and participate in professional development.
  • What German exams does the GLS offer?
    The GLS offers the National German Exam (NGE) at levels 1-4 and the Deutsche Sprachdiplom (DSD) I & II exams.
  • Does the school celebrate community events?
    The GLS celebrates traditions from German-speaking countries throughout the year.
  • What community partners does the GLS work with?
    The GLS closely cooperates with other local partners, including the Eastside German Language School and the Seattle Area German American School. In addition, the GLS has a close cooperation with the Zentralstelle für Auslandschulwesen.
